Often when some individuals ponder over a job in the gaming industry they often envision the dealers and casino employees. it is only natural to think this way because those persons are the ones out front and in the public eye. Salaries vary by establishment and locale. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) figures show that full time gaming managers were paid a median annual wage of $46,820 in 1999. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $26,630, and the highest ten percent earned in excess of $96,610.

Gaming supervisors administer gaming operations and employees in an assigned area. Circulating among the table games, they ensure that all stations and games are attended to for each shift. It also is accepted for supervisors to interpret the casino’s operating laws for guests. Supervisors might also plan and arrange activities for guests staying in their casino hotels.

Gaming supervisors must have obvious leadership qualities and excellent communication skills. They need these skills both to supervise employees accurately and to greet bettors in order to encourage return visits. Almost all casino supervisory staff have an associate or bachelor’s degree. No matter their their educational background, however, most supervisors gain expertise in other gambling occupations before moving into supervisory areas because an understanding of games and casino operations is essential for these workers.
